New and old, locally sourced and vintage, faux plants, and all the blush tones, The Residence is a colourful, welcoming space for working and living in.

The Residence was the first design project we tackled on this property. It was the opportunity for us to really set the tone of the entire motel. We completely revitalized what was a very brown, very 70s apartment into an ultra feminine, bright and fun space. We used colour everywhere, leaned into vintage sources and went for all the blush tones we could find. It’s the ultimate girl pad, and the last thing you’d expect to find above a roadside motel.

Here are the before and afters of this space, plus our source guide for all things furniture, fixtures + accessories in this space, as seen in Motel Makeover.

The June Motel Moteliers

JUNIFY TIP

Millennial pink will never be dead to us. Adding a pop of blush in every space is what we’re known for, and it’s because we truly love the soft but statement element it brings. So, in this space, we leaned into multiple shades and textures of pink. From the salmon coloured tiles and the two tone kitchen to the pale leather couch, we embraced mixing colour tones to bring a maximalist, femme personality through the entire apartment.

THE KITCHEN

This is the most used and versatile space of the kitchen. It’s where we cook, eat and work, sometimes simultaneously. It was really important to make it a comfortable area that was also inspiring from a design perspective. It’s loud but mature and soft but bold - just our style. Plus, a bar cart in the office never looked better ;)

THE LIVING ROOM

The living room is the chill zone. It’s for after hours Netflix, but it’s also a backdrop for video calls. We really brightened up the entire room with fresh white paint, and brought Palm Springs vibes in with all the plant lady vibes, vintage leather and pops of warm yellow.
