We have the ultimate family-friendly itinerary for your weekday stay, filled with afternoons at the beach, ice cream runs and campfires with s'mores at The June (plus plenty of wine for the adults). Hurry, we're filling up fast for the summer, so book your stay soon! For families, the new Studio Rooms are perfect or for an extra special treat, book the Rosé Suite.
CHECK-IN AT THE JUNE
Take advantage of the weekday getaway - while everyone else heads into work, wake up slow and make your way to The County on your own time. Beat the heat on your way with a stop in Picton at Slickers for an ice cream treat before check-in (we recommend the campfire ice cream).
Once you’re settled in, head up the road to Picton’s Main Street. and take the whole gang to dinner at the new Vic Café. Family friendly, colourful and healthy, you're sure to find something on the menu for everyone.
Grab a blanket and snuggle up on the patio for an outdoor screening of some of your favourite classic movies from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. We've got you covered with special drink and snack combos available for purchase from the Lobby Bar. Check out the full movie schedule and RSVP on our Facebook page. If you're not digging the movie at The June, you can take the kids to a proper drive-in, where they screen kid-friendly flicks!
BREAKFAST & BEACH
Swing by the Lobby Bar and fuel up with one of our healthy & quick breakfast options before piling into the car and heading for the beach! Enjoy the lighter weekday crowds and soak up some sun at Sandbanks Provincial Park, just about a 15 minute drive from the motel. Don't forget to explore the dunes!
Once you’ve all soaked up enough sun, make a little trip to visit the alpacas at SHED Chetwyn Farms. At SHED they design, make and purvey gifts crafted from high-quality alpaca fleece & yarn. Plus the kids can watch alpaca graze in nearby pastures!
DINNER IN WELLINGTON
On your way back to The June stop into Wellington for an early dinner at Midtown Brewery. They have an area to keep the kids entertained (games, books, etc.) and they have a great menu of food, beers and cocktails to keep the adults equally entertained.
CAMPFIRE, S'MORES AND ROSÉ O'CLOCK AT THE JUNE
Set yourselves up on the Lobby Bar patio to watch the sun set over Picton Bay before roasting up some s’mores around the campfire. We’ve also got $5 glasses of rosé from 8:00-9:00pm, so the adults can unwind as well! Lawn and board games available as well.
MORNING FLOW OUTDOOR YOGA
Chill out before you check out with a mid-week yoga class to start your day off right. Maybe your kids are old enough to tag along, or perhaps this is precious "mom time", either way you'll enjoy some early morning peace and quiet out on our yoga deck while Megan Marie Gates guides you through a 60 minute yoga class. Classes are $15 and must be pre-registered at firstname.lastname@example.org, or add it to your stay when you book your room!
CHECK-OUT & LUNCH ON THE ROAD
Once you've checked out, swing by Parsons Brewing on your way out of town for burgers & beers. The brewery has undergone some exciting renovations and menu changes this year, plus they've got an outdoor playground to keep the kids entertained while you test out a few brews.
After a busy couple of days you're sure to have a few happy (and sleepy) passengers for the road home! Cheers!
