We’ve wrapped up a beautiful October in The County but that doesn’t mean we’re settling into hibernation just yet. While the beaches may be emptier and the traffic slower, the wine is still pouring and we have plenty to share with our neighbours. November is a beautiful month to explore, indulge and celebrate a new season. Whether you've been wanting a romantic escape filled with cozy nights in and one too many glasses of Pinot Noir, or you're looking for a reason to get the girls together again, the County has an activity for everyone to enjoy this month!
NOVEMBER 1-24: Countylicious
The end of October means reaping the benefits and yummy foods of the Fall harvest and there’s no better way to celebrate than a month-long event! Part of the Taste Trail, The County is home to numerous farms, stands, and restaurants that all come together in celebration of culinary experiences in Prince Edward County. Countylicious features prix fixe menus and unique experiences from local restaurants and producers. Until November 24th, diners can choose from $20 lunches, $40 dinners or other events - think custom cocktail and bbq sauce workshops or a custom winemaker's dinner - that will bring you closer to the people who help put County food on your plate.

The Merrill House is hosting it's very own celebration of all things fine wine and dining with their newest culinary experience: The Taste of Burgundy. The revamped restaurant, part of the Inn, is known for its French-Burgundian cuisine - some favourites are the Beef Tartare, Foie Gras au Tochorn and Braised Rabbit Dijonnaise! For the entire month of November, you can pair explosive flavours and smooth wines for meals ranging from $57 to $82 while enjoying a worldly experience right in the heart of Picton!

NOVEMBER 9: Firelight Lantern Festival
Light up the November night with this traditional European festival. The Firelight Lantern Festival is a magical celebration for the whole community. It includes a procession down Main Street Picton, live music and performances, a whole lot of handmade lanterns, and a joyous sense of community!
But the fun doesn’t stop at the parade - you can take a workshop on building your own lantern and enjoy good eats courtesy of The Vic Cafe!
NOVEMBER 16 - Dec 1 (Weekends Only): Wassail
You may think PEC is a sandy beach summer destination only...but have you heard of Wassail?
Wassail [ˈwäsəl, ˈwäˌsāl] noun: drink plentiful amounts of wine and enjoy oneself with others in a noisy, lively way!
This well-loved celebration is a time to explore The County's best wineries in a new light. Sun or snow, you can sip on mulled wine and cider, snack on comfort foods and laugh with friends as you visit different wineries and their special features for Wassail. Be sure to check out tickets for a guided bus tour to fully embrace the relaxing nature of this celebration.
Planning to make a weekend out of it? Check our availability here and be sure to read an archived blog post from 2017 called 36 hours: Wassail in The County. Plus we'll be serving complimentary mulled wine all weekend in the Lobby Bar to help you stay warm and in the festive mood.
NOVEMBER 29: Bloomfield Festival of Lights
Santa is stopping by for an early visit at the end of November! The Bloomfield Festival of Lights is a chance to get bundled up and enjoy a brisk but beautiful November evening with friends, family and loved ones.
One of our favourite things about Prince Edward County is seeing how the local community comes together. At this is unique night-time Santa Claus Parade you can expect see homemade floats from local businesses, lots of twinkling lights and people and families of all ages bonding over holiday cheer. Plus, there's plenty of hot chocolate to go around!
NOVEMBER 30: Midtown Christmas Market
Realizing that the holidays are quickly approaching and struggling with gift ideas? Save the date for Christmas shopping at Midtown Brewing Co! This is the 4th annual Christmas Market, where local + handmade gifts and goods are available for purchase from 10am-6pm. Shopping local not only makes a small business owner do a little happy dance, but strengthens the community and opens the door for other creative and entrepreneurial ventures! Past years have seen unique home decor, handmade jewellery and non-perishable food items from local vendors.
We can't think of a better way to spend a November weekend than taking advantage of all the things The County has to offer. We hope to see you at The June this month - where a welcome glass of rosé will be waiting for you!
